Clean & Tidy Home Show with Penny Moyses

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Well, my name is Penny Moyses and I am Founder of the Clean & Tidy Home Show which I am delighted to say is returning for its second edition on 14-15 October 2023 at ExCeL London! I am super passionate about kindness, collaboration and what can be achieved when you bring people together. I have two little boys, two Jackhuauas, a DIY enthusiast for a husband and an allotment. As you can imagine, all this combined keeps my life very busy – often a little messy - but so fulfilling!

How did you come up with this event and what made you put the idea into action?

When I became a mum, and shortly after returned to work full-time and went into lockdown, I lost control of my home. I felt like I was failing in all facets of my life. It was only when I found the online cleaning and organising community with tips on how to keep your home, advice from other working mums, and a lot of #instareality that I realised how integral online communities and support are for many of us and especially valuable for those of us who are isolated, marginalised or ostracised.

A tidy home really does mean a tidy mind! This is what led me to founding the Clean & Tidy Home Show – I wanted to facilitate the existing online communities, the ones that really saved me and her home as well as bringing those people who needed such support together in person. Throughout the process I have made connections with now lifelong friends and discover more every day about what can cause us to feel overwhelmed as well as the solutions to a clearer, cleaner, more organised and healthy home. Helping others through the Clean & Tidy Home Show has been a major highlight of my career.

So, what exactly is the Clean & Tidy Home Show?

To put it simply, it’s a two-day event for anyone interested in creating a happier home and one that better that supports their desired lifestyle. Everyone is welcome, and we offer informative talks and demonstrations, opportunities to try out products and meet brands, and the chance to meet like-minded homemakers super inclusive and passionate Clean & Tidy Home Show community - face-to-face.

Who attends events like this?

Anyone and everyone! We welcome homeowners, renters, sharers, students, content creators, experts; professionals all the way through to beginners in the cleaning and organising space, alongside people who don’t even know that Professional Organisers even exist! Even a few celebrities attended as visitors last year, including Mrs Hinch and Stacey Solomon, which was very exciting for us, especially as it was our first ever event. The fact that it drew in thousands of people was amazing and really showed that our event plugged a gap in the homemaking space.

What can we expect from this year’s event?

A very memorable weekend! You can expect a great opportunity to learn for experts and devoted thought-leaders, to interact with likeminded people face-to-face, have fun, test and sample products in-person, uncover services you never knew you needed and new brands soon-to-become beloved staples in your cleaning cabinets.

We have three stages, the Main Stage, hosted by ITV’s Georgina Burnett AKA “The Home Genie”, providing advice from iconic cleanfluencers, celebrities, and more; the Demo Stage, which is another fan favourite returning this year, where you can watch live practical demos, see upcyclers in action, and learn the latest DIY cleaning solutions. This stage is hosted by expert of the scene, Richard Pearson of “Filthy House SOS”.

Finally, a new, and highly-anticipated, addition to the show is the EXTRA Stage, hosted by the wonderful Daniella Dawkins, a master upcycler and eco activist. This stage focuses on empowering individuals who go against typical trends. It will be a great place to learn more and expose yourself to new ideas and perspectives.

What will be different this year?

Well, it’s bigger for one thing, we have more brands, more visitors, more speakers, and as previously mentioned, a whole new stage! Our Ask An Expert feature has also had a revamp – with our partners BISCS and APDO, expect to learn about the cleaning products you absolutely shouldn’t miss together, whether eco cleaning products really work, how to wash your cloths and more.

AND – this year, we’re launching the Clean & Tidy Awards, to celebrate and highlight people, brands and products within the community who exemplify our ethos and champion the homemaking space.
